The contemporary architectural design and general contracting firm of Topos Architects in the heart of Palo Alto, CA, redesigned their modest loft to refine its aesthetics, natural lighting, functionality and security. We capitalized on the lone skylight, centered in the space, by nesting the conference room underneath, whose parital-height partition walls are glazed to the ceiling. Not only do guests and clients enjoy the sunlit conference room, but the glazed partition top shares light with the entry stair and surrounding work spaces.
Since the entrance is actually located on the alley side of the main street, black-framed metal gates with mahogany planks, enclose the secure parking spaces, and frame the entry door. The glass, French, entry door is etched with the firm logo, and features the new stair of walnut treads & handrail, and black slate risers. Tall, raised metal numbers are clearly seen against the sky blue facade from the nearby street.
