On a sunny property in a quiet Santa Rosa Valley, estate neighborhood, a regional sculptural artist & his wife sought to build a new home, in which to retire from teaching, to entertain guests, and to further pursue his craft.
The 6ksf design includes suites for guests, resident help, and for their visiting college age children. Spacious living, dining & gallery spaces feature elevated views of the landscape & the ocean beyond, as well as the large fireplace hearth within. Ample new studio space supplements the existing, century old California Mission cottage and garage on the south end of the property.
ENR architects developed a series of conceptual planning sketches, from which the Client coordinated construction with his construction industry trade relationships. Multiple components within the new home are antiques collected by the Client, such as doors & windows.
